Events Information:
Through the Hispanic Heritage Month we bring activities to educate about the richness of our Latino cultures to our community and the community at large in this particular case through performing arts. The Spanish Action League will present the following activities for the students at Seymour Elementary School. Children from Delaware and Blodgett Schools are also invited to attend. September 14th 2010 Award Winning Youth Theater Troupe - In 1999 the Spanish Action League founded La Joven Guardia del Teatro Latino (The Latino Theatre’s Youth Troupe). This is an innovative youth theatre program. The Theater Youth Troupe “La Joven Guardia del Teatro Latino” will present 3 scenes from our staged traveling piece for 2010 “Don Quijote de la Mancha” / Man of La Mancha. Opening / Dulcinea / Wind Mills. After the performance the program will offer a performing workshop, theater exercises, dramatic movement, improvisation techniques and creative expression to help our young people focus on role playing and building self September 16th 2010 Jubilee Productions, based in Puerto Rico since 1996, focuses in the field of entertainment, production, music engineering and education at all levels. Jubilee Productions also manages the Modern Jazz quartet Ricky Encarnacion and Heaven Report as well as the trio Rumbafonkology. In this particular occasion Heaven Report will offer for the children in our community at Seymour school and their guests from Delaware and Blodgett Schools music clinics. Our music clinic exposes the students to virtual instrumentalist who perform at international levels. Each instrumentalist brings valuable information to our clinics. For the enrichment of the students we offer innovative concepts of Jazz representative of the Caribbean, Brazil and Africa, explaining its rhythms and harmony. Additionally we cover history and theory, supporting material will be distributed for the students and faculty present. On September 17th we will hold our annual Gala Fundraiser at the Holiday Inn, Electronics Parkway, in Liverpool. We will present an enchanting evening with a Latin Jazz program and our award winning theater youth troupe “La Joven Guardia del Teatro Latino” with an adapted version of “Man of La Mancha”. On Saturday, September 18th we will hold the 19th Annual Latino Americano Festival at a location to be announced.
