The Domestic Violence Director and/or the DV Educator carries a cell phone during all working hours, this line is completely confidential for Domestic Violence victims. After hours, clients are encouraged to dial 911 in case of emergency. After business hours you can call National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).All women that participate in the domestic violence program will receive individual counseling to address their needs, are informed of services and options that are available to them and their children. We also inform them of their legal, housing and career options. We provide counseling about the importance of education for them and their children.
We assist victims with obtaining:
- Orders of protection
- Contacing police
- Interpretations
- Obtaining Police Reports
- Creation of a safety plan for the victim and children
Women's Support Group
The group helps women gain strength and confidence through a safe environment; they also can share experiences and understand that they are not alone, and that there are services available to help them.
Purpose of the group:
- To provide emotional support for women as they work through the effects of abuse
- To encourage personal growth in all areas of life
- To provide a comfortable atmosphere to develop relationships which are trusting and caring
- To provide a safe place to talk about the abuse
- To learn more about abuse and its affects on oneself and children witnessing abuse
